So a while back I posted a cute pink baby headband, this head band was simple to make and made a great present. However it could be made it a greater gift by adding in these adorable mittens and booties.
Knitted in double knit weight wool on 4mm needles.
The mittens were rather simple to make, relying on a series of decreasing stitches and a basic hole making stitch for the ribbon to go through. The booties however proved a challenge due to the shaping required. The shaping required me to hold the side stitches while knitting the top as normal. Then I had to pick up stitches round this newly formed top which I had never done before. Once this was done I knitted the bottom is straight knit stitch and then sewed close to form the boot.
All in all I’m rather proud of these since they are the most complex knitting i’ve done yet. What do you think?
