Sooooooo it seems that Britain is finally getting cold. Just in time for my birthday at the end of the month. I never understand why people expect snow over Christmas. It’s more likely to snow at easter. I’ve had. White birthdays quite a few years. I guess it all stems from a certain Mr Dickins with his Christmas Carol. During his childhood he had a few years of white Christmases so he put it in his story. This led people to imagining it and then slowly expecting it. So it’s all his fault!
I’ve been working at The Works for the past few months, which is a bit dangerous for my wage (as my mum, before I got the job, said “you practically live there”). I managed to hold myself back from buying lots of stuff, however one thing I did buy was a needle felting kit. I’d always wanted to try it but found supplies hard to come buy and expensive.
I’ve found it a bit addictive now I’ve started. My first creation was this Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy tribute.
I enjoyed making it but found the kit limited my options due to wool colours. Luckily my grandparents gave me some money for Christmas, which quickly went on more wool. I bought it from a esty store called SuesCountrycreations (found here http://etsy.me/1MKyGdK). Can’t recommend the store more, extremely fast delivery!
When I got my new wool I quickly dived in to make something new.
Meet Jiji! My version of Jiji the cat from Kiki’s delivery service. Possibly one of my favourite films. The book Jiji is sitting on is the fourth in the Hollows series (starts with dead witch walking) which is a great series. Anyway I’m going to leave now to make more stuff.
Sooooooo I’m back! Sorry for not posting for a while. Been very busy working two Christmas temp jobs in town. Which leads me to today’s thought of the day….why is TV over Christmas always rather naff? Don’t get me wrong, there are the odd good things but they are few and far between. You would think they would plan better shows to be on during the day, it’s not like it’s short notice. I mean it happens every year at the same time!!!! Ahh well, not much I can do but I feel better for the rant.
